Mines is one of the most popular “Original” games on DiuWin. It feels like a puzzle, but it’s pure chance — every tile is a coin flip weighted by how many mines you chose.
How a round works
- Choose your bet amount.
- Pick how many mines hide in the 25 tiles (1–24).
- Tap tiles one at a time — each gem increases the multiplier.
- Tap Cash out whenever you like.
- Hit a mine and the round ends with the bet lost.
How the mine count changes things
| 1–3 mines | Safer picks, slow multiplier |
|---|---|
| 5–10 mines | Balanced risk and reward |
| 15+ mines | Each pick is risky; multiplier jumps fast |
Good habits
- Decide your cash-out point before the round (e.g. after 3 gems).
- Keep the mine count low while learning.
- Don’t “chase” a bomb with a bigger bet.
We wrote a whole post on this: DiuWin Mines for beginners.
First-pick safety by mine count
| Mines | Safe tiles out of 25 |
|---|---|
| 1 | 24 |
| 3 | 22 |
| 5 | 20 |
| 10 | 15 |
| 20 | 5 |
Each gem you find removes a safe tile, so the next pick is a little riskier than the last. That’s why the multiplier grows — and why stopping early is a perfectly good strategy.

Frequently asked questions
How does Mines work on DiuWin?
A 5×5 grid hides gems and mines. Choose how many mines, then reveal tiles one by one. Each gem raises the multiplier; hitting a mine ends the round.
Should beginners use few or many mines?
Few. With fewer mines each pick is safer, though the multiplier grows slowly.
Is there a Mines pattern?
No. Mine positions are random every round.
